PURPOSE:A crop yield-increasing agent that contains taurine as an active ingredient, thus stimulating photosynthesis of crop plants important in supplying major food such as rice, soybean or corn to enable quantitative and qualitative improvement in crop yield. CONSTITUTION:The agent contains taurine as an active ingredient. Taurine distributes in bovine bile and meat essence of molluscs such as cuttlefish, octopus or shells. The substance is made into known preparations such as dust, aqueous solution and others, and used in the form of aqueous solution. The preparation is preferably subjected to foliage application, but may be used in seed treatment by dipping, too. Seed treatment is conducted with a solution of 1-1,000ppm concentration of the active ingredient. The concentration for foliage treatment preferably ranges from 300-1,000ppm. When it is applied, the aqueous solution is preferably combined with surface active agents.
