摘要

PURPOSE:To improve accuracy of detection in the detecting method for longitudinal crack on a cast slab in continuous casting by discriminating time series variation of temp. and positional pattern detected at each position in mold face during casting. CONSTITUTION:In the case the longitudinal crack develops, in this position, abnormal temp. variation is recognized in the time series variation of the detected temp. during casting, and in the positional distribution pattern in traverse direction of the detected temp., the abnormal pattern where the temp. is abnormally lowered compared with the circumference thereof, is detected at the position developing the longitudinal crack. Further, as the longitudinal crack comes to slender shape in the longitudinal direction, i.e., to progressing direction of the cast slab, the abnormal temp. variation is detected at the plural positions, where mutually differ in the longitudinal direction as the same position to the traverse direction, in the substantially same time. Therefore, by discriminating each condition, existence of the longitudinal crack can be detected with high accuracy or predicted during casting.
