PURPOSE: To provide the antenna shared between right-handed and left-handed circular polarized waves which requires only one substrate by arranging probe insertion positions on a line parallel with the tube axis and making one probe straight and curving the other along the tube wall to make both probes orthogonal to each other. ;CONSTITUTION: When the left-handed circular polarized wave as cross polarization of the right-handed circular polarized wave is introduced to a round waveguide 16 with an electric field E in the Y-axis direction, the left-handed circular polarized wave having the field E is propagated in the round waveguide 16 as the electromagnetic wave having polarized components EX and EY orthogonal to each other, but the phase of the component EX is delayed by 90° with respect to phase relations. The component EY has the phase delayed by a 90° phase difference plate 17, and it has the same amplitude as the component EX but has the opposite phase after passing this plate 17, and thus, components EX and EY are cancelled by each other and the left-handed circular polarized wave is not propagated. Consequently, only the right-handed circular polarized wave can be received. When the right- handed circular polarized wave as cross polarization of the left-handed circular polarized wave is introduced with the field E in the X-axis direction, only the left-handed circular polarized wave can be received in the same manner, and cross polarization characteristic is improved.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
