PURPOSE:To obtain having improved usable time and aggregating strength by containing fixed amount of amorphous calcium aluminate having specific CaO/Al2O3 molar ratio. CONSTITUTION:The aimed alumina cement contains amorphous calcium aluminate having molar ratio of CaO/Al2O3=1/1.2-3/7 in an amount of =80wt.%. A low-cement castable binder is obtained by containing said alumina cement, ultrafine powder and decoagulant as principal components. Calcia source or alumina source containing as possible as slight impurity may be selectively used in said alumina cement as a large amount of impurities such as SiO2, TiO2 or Fe2O3 included from raw material has adverse effect to aggregating ability of matrix. Furthermore, in containing =80wt.% of amorphous material, elution of multivalent ion such as Ca2+ or Al3+ is undesirably slow and aggregating properties are deteriorated in contact of calcium aluminate with water.
