Wheelbarrow suspension having shock absorbing features - comprises leaf springs made of fibre reinforced material on either side of wheel which absorbs vertical and horizontal shocks and supports loads carried by wheelbarrow
The barrow design has two flexible parallel leaf springs (3) located either side the wheel (4). Relative displacement of the wheelbarrow loads (1,2) results from deformation of the leaf springs which form a fork with an angle of incidence of about 30 degrees towards the front. The leaf springs have a fictitious axis of rotation (8) for vertical shock absorbing. The leaf springs are flexible along the vertical axis (5) and are rigid along horizontal axes (6,7). Rigidity along the axis (6) keeps the wheel centred in the wheelbarrow axis and rigidity along the axis (7) allows transmission of the operator's push and opposes horizontal shocks. ADVANTAGE - Provides user comfort against vertical and horizontal shocks.
