Mechanical components storage device for electrode tips for robotic welding lines - comprises barrel cylinder with storage modules for elastic storage in axial support housings laterally open for introduction and extn., for automobile industry
The device comprises a barrel cylinder having storage modules (2) mounted movably in axial support housings around the circumference. Each module may store a mechanical component (3) elastically, and the module and the axial housing are laterally open to allow the lateral introduction and extn. of the component w.r.t. the module. The barrel cylinder may be rotated to present each module for the introduction or extn. of the mechanical component (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for storing mechanical components, i.e. spot welding electrode tips, and may be used in association with a welding robot to allow automatic electrode changes to be made in an assembly line. It is partic. applicable in the automobile industry and provides a less erronerous and reliable storage mechanism that may also position the electrode tips for more reliable electrode changing. Individual modules may be designed for differing type of electrode tips facilitating the automatic changing of electrodes to suit operating conditions ensuring that the electrode change is quick and accurate.
