The invention relates to a process for purification of residual solutions from the cycle of preparation of titanium oxide by the process of the sulphate, the residual solutions (11) produced during the washing of the titanium hydroxide or a part of those - latter is evaporated by the compression process to the steam, in order to form a condensate pure (13) and a residual solution (14) having a high concentration of sulfuric acid. The present invention also relates to a process for the preparation of titanium oxide implementing this method of purification.
