Automatic disease evaluation from protein fraction data - obtd. from electrophoretic analysis of blood and comparison of characteristic parameters with those in intelligent tables
Automatic evaluation of disease type comprises deriving many characteristic parameters (CP) from analytical data on protein fractions obtd. by electrophoretic analysis of blood samples. At least one intelligent table is constructed to represent the relationship between combinations of CP and each disease type. A characteristic parameter pattern of a sample is generated by arranging CP according to a predetermined format and the pattern compared with the tables to indicate disease type. Pref. the CP pattern is first compared with a 'mask' pattern to exclude CP not used in the evaluation and the resulting logical prod. is compared with the corresp. prod. of an evaluation pattern. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used to diagnose diseases. Unlike known methods based on a logical tree, the process allows the normal values and/or evaluation conditions to be changed easily or extended. It also allows more than one disease type to be detected from a single sample.
