Diagonal ultrasonic system with acoustic command unit - has commands entered via microphone with processing unit to generate digital input transmitted to control unit
The ultrasonic diagnostic system (2) has an ultrasonic application stage (4), a transmit/receive stage (6), signal processor (8) and a monitor (10) for output evaluation. The internal control stage (14) responds to commands from an operator panel (12) and also from a remote control unit (20). The remote control unit generates transmission signals via an interface (40) that are received by the built in control unit (14). The remote controller has a microprocessor (30), command memory (36), display (34), and speech synthesiser (38). Spoken commands are entered using a microphone (22) received by an analogue to digital processing unit (28). USE/ADVANTAGE - Provides non contact operation using spoken commands. Used for medical applications.
