Device for testing the strength of test-pieces, especially those having thermoplastic weld connections or seams, with a bending device acting on the test-piece and a measurement device for determining the bending angle which, with increasing bending of the test-peice, occurs when the latter begins to tear or break, the measurement device having at least one measurement member which detects the angular deflection of a bending-limb section in the test-piece and a processing unit, connected downstream and designed so that the angular-deflection signal from the measurement member is further processed therein to give the total bending angle of the test-piece.
