A specimen body (1.1) is subjected to the treatment process and if required, a physical, chemical and/or optical investigation is performed. The specimen is made of the material or taken from the workpiece intended for the treatment. At least one small dia. bore (5) is made in the specimen body. After being subjected to the sealing enhancement treatment, the specimen body is cut in the region of the bore and examined for the effectiveness of the treatment. USE/ADVANTAGE -Esp. for use with metal bodies made with small orifices and cracks and treated to increase sealing; aluminium vacuum container, capsule part for gas isolated high voltage electric circuits. Effective and reproducible measurements at low cost.
