Reactor has a pressure jet nozzle (9) which is mounted centrally in the reactor top and which faces the upper end of an open-ended guide tube (10) fixed coaxially below the nozzle. The guide tube (10) has a length corresp. to the height of a stationary substrate bed (5) integrated in the reactor (2). A substrate material-free homogenisation zone (11) is located above the stationary bed (5) and communicates with the guide tube (10). A liq. circulation line (8), mounted on the outside of the reactor (2), branches from a substrate material-free zone (7) below the bed (5) and discharges into the pressure jet nozzle (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - For treating waste water from abattoirs, meat processing plants, etc. The reactor is capable of long term stable operation (even when in the form of a retrofitted reactor), treats the waste water anaerobically on site in a residue-free manner using bacteria immobilised on the substrate material, ensures high biogas yield and avoids the use of enzyme preparations.
