Double-cylinder hydraulic drive control system e.g. for machine tool - compensates change in volume of pressure spaces of cylinder by piezoelectrically-actuated pistons located at ends of cylinder, with piezoelectric actuators closed off from pressure spaces
The regulator (32) processes the actual value and the desired value of a variable of the cylinder piston (12) and regulates a control valve. Alteration of the volumes of the pressure chambers (13,14) of the hydraulic cylinder is compensated by piezoelectric components (25,26). The pressure chamber (13) is closed off from the piezoelectric components (25,26) by pistons (27,28) which are moved by the components. One component compensates the change in the volume of the pressure chamber (13) on one side of the cylinder piston (12) and the other component compensates the volume of the pressure chamber on the other side of the piston. ADVANTAGE - Increases load rigidity of drive and maintains specific position or speed of tool or workpiece when hammer-type shocks occur.
