Continuous flow heater for bathroom shower - has temperature sensor in heater outlet which opens valve in cold water by=pass if temp. set point exceeded
The continuous flow heater has a temperature sensor in the warm water outlet of the heating unit and control of the cold water flow to the heating unit according to the sensor signal. The warm water outlet (12) feeds directly to the shower head (17) and there is a hand-operated main check valve (6) for the cold water supply (4). The cold water flow control uses a flow limiter (7) with a parallel bypass passage (8) containing a second valve (9), this being operated mechanically by the temperature sensor (13). The valve is opened when the temperature set point is exceeded. There is a diaphragm switch which switches the heater off if there is no water flow. ADVANTAGE - Simple self-contained design.
