Spectroscopic system for carrying out microanalysis esp. HPLC - arranges sample between conical-waveguide aperture converters to align beam along optical axis, and detects using e.g. simultaneous spectrometer consisting of holographic diffraction grating and photodiode line array
An aperture converter (14,15) is respectively provided between a point light source (L) or its image (L') and the specimen (9), and between the specimen and the entrance aperture (3) of the spectrometer for the achromatic optical energy transmission in the object space (8). The aperture converter respectively consists of a co-axial cone-shaped light conductor or mirror with a light inlet and a light outlet. The larger of the two ends faces the specimen. The specimen (9) is contained in a capillary cuvette, arranged along the optical axis, and radiates longitudinally, with small radiation inclination compared to optical axis. USE/ADVANTAGE - Eg for simultaneous, absorption, interference or polarisation spectroscopic system using ultraviolet radiation. Facilitates aligned illumination of specimen with optimum energy transmission.
