A digital electronic processing circuit provides for all four basic arithmetic operations and is based around a 4 bit binary adder together with shift registers and a control circuit. The circuit receives coded numbers with decimal points that are entered into shift registers. An additional circuit (42) is used to determine the precise position of the decimal point for the addition and subtraction operations. The first numbers entered for any of the operations entered into a specific shift register. Specific keys are used to select the arithmetic operation.
