The depth, thickness and torsion of the wing can be continuously varied in dependence on the radius. The profile is mfd. from extruded metal or plastics material, the latter being possibly fibre-reinforced, allowing embossing and pliable or plastic bending. One or more strengthening plates (6) can be installed as cross-beams. One or more slots (2,3) extending in the longitudinal direction can be glued or riveted in the appropriate plates (4,5,6). They can be wedge-shaped, the varying widths realising the change in thickness required in the wing. ADVANTAGE - Economical mfr. for 2 to 3 years service. Shape can approach ideal for intended purpose.
