A heating installation with a hot-water tank (5) and a priority sequencing for the hot-water tank (5) has a control unit (10), a boiler (1), a heating circuit (4) connected to the boiler (1) by a flow and return line (2, 3) respectively, a tank circuit connected to the flow and to the return line (2, 3) by a tank flow and tank return line (6, 7) respectively, a pump (8) and an on/off-controlled changeover valve (9) for directing the hot-water flow from the boiler (1) to the hot-water tank (5) or to the heating circuit (4). The changeover valve (9) is controlled by the control unit (10). The priority sequencing has the effect that the changeover valve (9) can be changed over at the start of the heat demand of the hot-water tank (5), in delayed fashion, to directing the hot-water flow from the boiler (1) to the hot-water tank (5), and at the end of the heat demand of the hot-water tank (5) can be changed over, in delayed fashion, to directing the hot-water flow from the boiler (1) to the heating circuit (4). When using a changeover valve (9) with a central position, at the end of the heat demand of the hot-water tank (5) the changeover valve (9) can, during a follow-up time, distribute the hot-water flow from the boiler (1) both to the hot-water tank (5) and to the heating circuit (4), in order more rapidly to remove the excess heat in the boiler (1) at the end of the priority sequencing.
