A slope sheeting for embankments B has a retaining wall 1 which can be composed of individual timber beams 2. In order to efficiently produce a slope sheeting compatible with the landscape, the beams 2 are lined up one behind the other in parallel and at a distance next to one another and so as to be staggered and overlapping one another and are assembled together with bearers 3, if need be running transversely in the overlapping regions 6, to form a timber grating 4 forming the retaining wall 1, in which case the timber grating 4 is to be anchored in the substructure via anchors 5 acting on the bearers 3.
