The present invention provides an absorbent containing bryophytes selected from plant parts, including cassava, rice, rigid secondary bryophyte and cuspida. The invention also relates to a new method for manufacturing a very absorbent structure and a method for evaluating the liquid absorption characteristics of moss composition. This new ingredient helps to produce a suitable liquid absorbent for disposable absorbents such as sanitary napkins and tampons.
