PURPOSE:To check truth or falsehood of a document such as paper money, a credit card, etc., with infrared ray. CONSTITUTION:A document has a truth or falsehood checking area in which a metal thin film having different reflection from that of a material of the document or permeable characteristics to infrared ray is distributed at least on part of the document, and can check truth or falsehood with the infrared ray with the film distributed at random on the checking area. Accordingly, when it is checked with the infrared ray, ever if a scanning position is deviated from a reference, no misjudgement occurs, and truth or falsehood can be accurately decided.
