PURPOSE:To provide the subject device designed to improve the efficiency of, e.g. various kinds of combining operations for fabric pattern images by enabling change in CRT display magnification and inputting both fabric and texture item No. in the fabric pattern image simulation, in the surface pattern making for a yarn-dyed dobby woven fabric. CONSTITUTION:In the surface pattern making for a yarn-dyed dobby woven fabric taking advantage of a computer, fabric textures and their types and yarn colors, thicknesses, order of arrangements, counts and densities, all of which have been inputted in advance, are stored; concurrently, the yarns are divided into smaller segments, which are also stored. Fabric pattern images are then simulated by displaying them on a color CRT screen based on the texture and arrangement data produced by operating the smaller segment colors according to the texture types and yarn colors and thicknesses each specified by the stored information and the respective coefficients of the smaller segments; in this case, the system is so designed as to enable arbitrarily changing display magnification and also giving item No. to the fabric pattern data being in production and calling the registered woven texture data designations.
