PURPOSE: To provide the player capable of using both CD and MD. ;CONSTITUTION: An MD is placed on a tray 14, and when the MD comes under a sensor arm 10, a contact member 13 is brought into contact with a cartridge of the MD and is pushed back, so that the sensor arm 10 is slid. Consequently, a sensor arm link 7 is turned, and a shutter arm 1 is pushed by the sensor arm link 7, and is turned. A 1st rack gear 15 and a shutter arm gear 4 are meshed together, and the tip of the shutter arm is turned to an MD shutter opening starting position. A shutter arm ring 2 is inserted into a shutter opening and closing groove, and the shutter is released from its locking to open the shutter. Upon completion of opening the shutter, a 2nd rack gear 16 is meshed with the shutter arm gear 4, and the shutter arm 1 is fed out of the disk surface.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
