PURPOSE: To obtain a synthetic lubricating oil which does not have adverse effects such as denaturation and deterioration on synthetic resins such as foamed polystyrene, ABS, polycarbonate and PP and has an excellent property of lubricating metals by using a specified carbonate compound or a mixture thereof with a specified ester. ;CONSTITUTION: This lubricating oil comprises a carbonate compound of formula I (wherein R₁ and R₂ are each a 1-50C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group provided that the total number of the carbon atoms is 30 or greater) or a mixture thereof with an ester of formula II (wherein R₃ and R₄ are each R₁ provided that the total number of the carbon atoms is 30 or greater).;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
