PURPOSE:To provide an electric probe by which a bubble characteristic in molten metal can be measured accurately. CONSTITUTION:A bubble characteristic measuring electric probe in a hight temperature bath is an electric probe having a probe part 2 and an insulating part 3 on the tip, and the probe part 2 is mainly composed of lanthanum chromite and/or zirconia, and is formed of an oxide good conductor having specific resistance of not more than 103OMEGAcm at a temperature equal to or higher than 1000 deg.C. The insulating part 3 is mainly composed of alumina type oxide and/or boron nitride, and is formed of an oxide non-conductor having specific resistance of not less than 106OMEGAcm at a temperature equal to or higher than 1000 deg.C, and the ratio of the specific resistance at a temperature equal to or higher than 1000 deg.C of the probe part to the insulating part is not less than l04. This electric probe has excellent durability, and has high measurement accuracy, and can measure a bubble characteristic in a high temperature molten metal bath continuously and accurately for many hours.
