PURPOSE:To adjust to proper displacement according to stevedoring work the maximum inclination angle, that is, the maximum discharge displacement of a swash plate after the assembly of a piston pump. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block 8 having a cylinder bore 9 is put on a rotary shaft 5 so as to be able to rotate synchronously, and the base end portions of operation pistons 12 housed in the cylinder bore 9 are slidably engaged with the swash surface of a swash plate 11 whose angle is variable, through shoes 10. A control piston 22 to conduct pushing motion in a direction to increase the inclination angle of the swash plate 11 is provided at a rear end cover 3, and in addition, a return spring 18 to energize the inclination angle of the swash plate 11 to the minimum position is interposed between the back of the swash plate 11 and the inner wall of a front end cover 2. An adjustment bolt 25 to adjust a position where the inclination angle of the swash plate 11 is the maximum, is screwed to the front end cover 2 so as to be positioned in the vicinity of the return spring 18, and fixed by means of a nut 26.
