PURPOSE: To easily synthesize a natural speech by determining vowel length and consonant constituting a mora by using the time length between the centers of gravity of vowel part energy and the kind of a consonant. ;CONSTITUTION: A phoneme continuance generation part 2 controls the phoneme continuance of a phoneme symbol sequence, generated by a text analytic part 1, with a rhythm rule. An acoustic amplitude parameter generation part 3 determines the power pattern of a speech with a power rule so as to maintain the continuance between the centers of gravity of vowel part energy given by the rhythm rule of the phoneme continuance generation part 2. A pitch pattern generation part 4 determines point pitch patterns according to how many moras are included and an accent type and interpolates them to generate a continuous point pitch pattern.
