PURPOSE:To enhance a deodorizing property against a basic malodor and a sulfurous malodor, by compounding a deodorizing composition together using carboxylic anhydride and copper compound with a thermoplastic resin. CONSTITUTION:A deodorizing composition consisting of carboxylic anhydride (A) and a copper compound (B), a deodorizing composite material formed by containing the components (A), (B) in a base material, a deodorizing resin composition formed by compounding the components (A), (B) with a thermoplastic resin, a deodorizing resin molded product prepared by processing the deodorizing resin composition and a deodorizing foam prepared by the same way as said molded product are obtained. As carboxylic anhydride to be used, there are phthalic anhydride, butyric anhydride and succinic anhydride and, as the copper compound, all of inorg. acid salt, org. acid salt, a complex and oxide may be used and there are copper sulfate, cuppric chloride, copper oleinate and copper naphthenate. In the deodorizing composition, the component (B) is usually within a range of 0.001-200 pts.wt. pref. 0.05-20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the component (A).
