PURPOSE:To permit out-going newspaper bundles to be loaded on the truck outbound for the same destination as that of the newspaper bundle by a method wherein the newspapers are tied up in a bundle and a destination slip is attached to the bundle only when the course code inputted when a truck enters a gate agrees with that read from the destination slip. CONSTITUTION:When trucks enter gates 1-5, the course codes and the gate numbers are inputted into truck information input devices 32-36. A control circuit 47 for destination-slip attaching device 6-9, if the course codes are the same as the same as those read from destination slips 42-44 activates stackers 10-13 to tie up a predetermined number of newspapers in a predetermined number of bundles based on the number of newspapers and the bundles stated in each destination slip. The gate numbers are also entered in the destination slips which are then attached to the corresponding newspaper bundles and such bundles are sent onto a delivery conveyor 26 through packing machines 16-20 and bundling machines 21-25. When a truck gate reading device 66 reads the truck gate number stated in the destination slip, a control device 67 sends the newspaper bundle into the truck gate by an ejecting 68 of the corresponding gate. If the course code disagrees with that read from the destination slip, the subject apparatus is not made operative.
