The use of 1,2,3,4,4a,10b-hexahydro- 6-(sulphonamido-phenyl)-benzo (c)-(1,6) naphthyridine derivs. of formula (I) or their salts for prodn. of medicaments for treatment of allergic and/or chronic deficiency reactions in the upper respiratory tract (throat, nose) and neighbouring regions (sinuses, eyes), e.g. allergic or chronic rhinitis-sinusitis, allergic conjunctivitis and nasal polyps: R1 is 1-4C alkyl; R2,R3 are H, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R4 is H, Me or OMe; R5 is H or 1-4C alkyl; R6 is 1-4C alkyl or phenyl (opt. substd. by 1 or 2 of 1 or 2 of 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkyl, 1-4C alkoxy, OH and halogen). Pref. (I) is (-)-cis-8,9-dimethoxy- 1,2,3,4,4a,10b-hexahydro-2-methyl- 6-(4-(p-toluene sulphonamido)-phenyl)- benzo (c)0(1,6) naphthyridine. USE - (I) are known bronchospasmolytic agents described in WO9117991. (I) are applied in conventional formulations (e.g. emulsion, suspensions, ointments, sprays (e.g. nasal sprays) or solns. (e.g. eye drops)) contg. 0.1-99 % (I).
