Phase-coupled coherent electromagnetic field leakage detector - using test fluid having dielectric susceptibility which exhibits nonlinear dependence on applied coherent EM field which produces spatially varying optical density in gas
Phase-coupled coherent electromagnetic field leakage detector - using test fluid having dielectric susceptibility which exhibits nonlinear dependence on applied coherent EM field which produces spatially varying optical density in gas
In a process to check vessels or containers for leaks, a test fluid is introduced into the vessel at a pressure higher than that around the vessel. The test fluid has a dielectric susceptibility which is highly non-linear in relation to the field strength of an electromagnetic field. Test fluid leaking from the vessel (11) enters a test area (12) subject to a coherent electromagnetic field, (14,17) which imposes on the test fluid a spatially defined varying optical density. A phase-coupled electromagnetic field reflected from this structure reveals the presence of a leak from the vessel. USE - For testing closed vessel such as vehicle oil coolers and water radiators.
