The two or more semiconductor layers which form the potential barrier are produced by the application of crystal powder with subsequent thermal treatment. The surface properties of the grains guarantee formation of good contact between neighbouring layers of the solar cell. The crystal powder possesses the necessary electrical properties of a charge carrier sepn. layer. Materials of different conductivity types or forbidden energy gaps may be used to form potential barriers with dissimilar properties. ADVANTAGE - A cost-effective and technologically simple method is suitable also for thin-film solar cell prodn.
