Heat recovery and heat storage obtained from shutdown mines and brown coal pits - utilising underground and above ground parts of mines and after preparations and survey pipes are laid underground also pipe-rerouting stations with surface access
The mine water courses, floor levels and seams are established, with some blind shafts closed and others left open. A hydraulic short circuit is prevented. In mines not flooded air can be used as a carrying medium. The heat pumps are installed above ground. Pipes or pipe bundles are laid before the mine is filled or flooded, so that they can be checked and replaced when necessary. The carrying medium e.g. eater is better heated over long distances, and heating pumps with the highest possible heat output are used to maintain a constant temp. through the year. This heat is transmitted to end users. Waste heat available from power stations also exhaust water from heat cooling towers can be utilized. ADVANTAGE - Economic use can be made of pits, mines, dumps, quarries and associated plant and buildings. Systems used are environmentally friendly.
