Multipurpose video surveillance system - uses portable TV receiver as video display unit removable from and insertable in video base unit connected to camera
In the video system, a picture is received using a video camera (30) in response to a command signal. The video signal serves to reproduce the picked-up image on a display unit. The display unit is portable and includes a TV receiver (20) to reproduce a video signal supplied from the video camera (30) via a device base unit (10) in a surveillance mode and also to receive radio and television broadcasts in a TV mode. The display unit (20) can be inserted in and detached from the device unit (10). USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be incorporated in video door-phone, video camera, video phone or vehicle rear view video monitor. Several video devices can share single display screen.
