Layered arrangements of hollow fibres for high heat transfer - comprise regular cross fibres transfer heat and fluid substances, for osmosis, micro filtration, blood treatment, dialysis plasma sepn. and oxygenation
The bundle is made from a layered arrangement of hollow fibres and fibres arranged in a waveform so that the hollow fibres repeately cross fibres at intervals, and each layer of hollow fibres is longitudinally transposed against the neighbouring layer. The prodn. comprises use of a rotating drum onto which at the same time are wound a hollow fibre and a fibre through an oscillating guide. USE/ADVANTAGE - The bundle of fibres may transfer heat or fluid substances in technical applications e.g. osmosis, ultra and microfiltration, blood dialysis, oxygenation and plasma sepn. The bundled fibres mfd. may transfer up to 10 percent more heat or fluid substance c.f. obtd. by fibre bundles made by prior art.
