Adjustable aerodynamic frontal undersurface e.g. for motor vehicle body - includes trough with bulkhead walls forming continuous surface with vertical sections of bodywork when fully lowered
Between the front wheel arches (3) and the skirt (2) of the front bumper a movable trough (1) is fitted into the horizontal section (4) of the underside of the bodywork, and is raised and lowered by a tubular hoop (6) pivoted about a transverse horizontal axis (61) by an electric motor. The trough incorporates slots (11) in the upper region of its frontal surface (19) which in the fully lowered position are aligned with the air vents (21) in the underside of the skirt. ADVANTAGE - No additional air intake vents are exposed in any position of the adjustable portion of the bodywork.
