Hypodermic instrument esp. for diabetics for self admin. of insulin - has large-surface setting unit with ratchet lock for dosage selection by touch for visually impaired
The hypodermic instrument has a dosage selector rotating on the protective casing lid (1), with a large-setting and operating unit with a ratchet lock. An axially adjustable limit stop is at the plunger (18) which, when the case is closed, is coupled to the setting unit. The plunger (18), with an outer threading, moves longitudinally in a carrier bush (21) without rotation and with a friction braking action, and is fixed in place by guide ribs at the lower section (15) of the case. USE/ADVANTAGE - The unit is for self-administration when the sight is impaired, especially for diabetics who inject insulin. The system gives the user a setting mechanism which can be identified by touch to set the required dosage and indicate the amt. of insulin remaining.
