The controller contains a power circuit between the electrical power source and motor enabling the motor's power and hence the boat's speed to be varied according to inputs from a hand controller and echo sounder. The echo sounding signal is audibly and visually indicated to the boatman. The audible signal is suppressed when the motor is stopped or reduced to minimum power for a defined period. The visible indicator can be extinguished after a defined period with the motor off. Battery charge monitoring is also performed. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. for use in boats for hire. arrangement helps to prevent boat damage caused by grounding and battery damage caused by discharging.
