The time indicator includes a fluid medium filling tubular volumes which are formed in a capillary subdivided by the liquid (2). The ends are connected across a gas choke (3), to form a ring. The tubular volumes (RO, RU) of the capillary (1) in their dia. have a gas pressure, density and viscosity and also a tendency to flow and a resistance to flow of the choke, as well as a length of the liquid column (2). The parameters are selected in relation to the velocity of descent of the liquid column (2), with such a relationship to the scale length and graduations, that the meniscus of the liquid column passes over the entire scale length, in at least one standard unit of time, e.g. at least one hour, one day and one month. USE/ADVANTAGE - Time indicator using hour glass principle. Simple and with low structural height. Long indicating time periods can be provided and accurate indication is given.
