Arrangement to control the stroke force of a working machine by means of a suction valve which is built directly onto a working cylinder and consists of a valve housing, a pressure piston, a main piston and a relief piston, and a valve switchable within a control pipe. The pressure piston (3) functions as a control piston through the provision of an additional piston (4) in a control block (6) subject to alternately acting pressure pipes (7), and is in close control relationship with the main piston (5) via the ball valve (9). USE/ADVANTAGE - Control system for a press which provides damping at the upper and lower dead centre points throughout the stroke sequence of the main piston.
