The tank (1) is in the form of two interconnected chambers (4,5) on either side of a hump (2) in its floor (3). One chamber (4) contains the fuel pump (7). The other (5) houses a suction jet pump (10) feeding fuel through a pipe (12) to a surge drum (6) in the first chamber (4). Another suction jet pump (13) feeds a branch pipe (14) conveying fuel directly from that chamber (4) into the surge drum (6). The main jet line (11) has a venting or non-return valve. ADVANTAGE - Supply of fuel to surge drum and pump inlet is guaranteed in all operating conditions.
