Compsn. for inducing puberty and synchronising oestrus in young sows - contains PGF2 alpha or its analogue, esp. cloprostenol providing improved litter size
Compsn. which induces both puberty and oestrus in young sows comprises, apart from usual auxiliaries and carriers, PGF2 alpha or its analogues. The compsns. esp. contain cloprostenol (I), given in unit doses of 150-250 micro-g. To induce an oestrus cycle before being used for breeding, the sows are given (I) on day 18-22 (pref. 20-21) after induction of puberty so as to break down the corpus luteum of the first cycle. USE/ADVANTAGE - The compsn. is matched to the natural progression of the reproductive cycle; is stable and induces oestrus simultaneously in a group of sows. It has no effect on health and fertility of the animals, and before and after slaughter, has no residual action on animals or humans. The compsn. reduces breeding costs and improves litter size.ty
