Ogura-infertile DNA sequences impart cytoplasmic male sterility to the plant when it is present in the cytoplasm of the plant. The invention also relates to mitochondrial genomes, liquid genomes, mitochondria, and cytoplasm containing cytoplasm. In addition, the present invention relates to a process for preparing a plant belonging to the genus Brassica, a hybrid plant using such a plant, and a hybrid obtained by performing such a process.
