A base system (3) such as a personal computer, connected to at least another preexisting expansion board (3a), provided with a dynamic set-up expansion board (4) including a device (5) for configurating personal computer resources as a function of the expansion board (4) itself taking into account the - one or more - preexisting expansion boards (3a). The expansion board (4) comprises an operative logic (6) and program means operative at the power-on of the system, provided for analysing the system and recognizing the space for available resources, choosing in this space the configuration to be assigned to the board (4). The latter is provided with means suitable for memorizing the configuration arranged by said program means and for maintaining it during all the working time and can be assigned to any purpose within the suitable resources of the system.
