PURPOSE: To mechanize and automate the feeding operation which is conventionally performed by manpower and inefficient in feeding a raw steel sheet to a shearing machine in a steel drawing and rolling mill for cutting and manufacturing strip raw materials for steel drawing and rolling of an irregular size raw steel sheet. ;CONSTITUTION: A raw steel sheet continuous feed device consists of the following parts: (1) A regular size pusher 1 for feeding heads formed of plural cylinders 11 arranged in a row for following the irregular shapes of raw steel sheets, by a specified feed-size. (2) A conveying device 2 which holds a raw steel sheet 60 on the pusher 1 and drops the steel sheet 60. (3) A control device which measures the size of the raw steel sheet 60 to determine the retract- position and the rate of feed, and to feed the regular size pusher 1 in synchronism with the shearing machine 3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
