PURPOSE: To enable hardening at relatively low temperature while holding display quality and improve adhesive strength by containing specific tetracarboxylic dianhydride, aromatic diamine, and as occasion demands, specific polyamide acid. ;CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal orientation film composition contains tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride expressed by a formula I, aromatic diamine expressed by a formula II, a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride with silicon atoms expressed by a formula III, and as occasion demands, polyamid acid obtained by reacting tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride other than the formulas I and III and/or diamine other than the formula II. In the formula I, X₁ represents an alkyl group of 1-4 in the number of carbon, and a-d are 0, 1 or 2. In the formula II, X₂ represents an alkyl group of 1-4 in the number of carbon or halogen atoms, and e-h are 0, 1 or 2. In the formula III, Ar represents an aromatic group, R₅-R₈ represents alkyl groups of 1-10 in the number of carbon, alkyl groups of 1-10 in the number of substituted carbon or aromatic groups, l, m are integers of 0 or 1, and (n) is an integer of 10 or 1-5.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
