PURPOSE:To convert adenosine monophosphate into adenosine triphosphate efficiently, by combining an enzyme prepared by a baterium, converting adenosine monophosphate into adenosine diphosphate, and an enzyme prepared by a bacterium, converting adenosine diphosphate into adenosine triphosphate. CONSTITUTION:A bacterium such as Bacillus stearothermophilus, thermus aquaticus, etc. is cultivated in a nutrient medium, so that adenylate kinase converting adenosine monophosphate (AMP) into adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and acetate kinase converting ADP into adenosine triphosphate (ATP) are prepared. These enzymes are supported on a proper carrier such as dextran, etc., packed into a column, and an AMP solution containing ATP and acetylphosphate as phosphate donors are introduced into the column, to give ATP in about =98% high conversion.
