PURPOSE:To foretell the occurring date, magnitude and centrum of an earthquake, by observing a radio wave or earth current generated as the omen phenomenon of an earthquake. CONSTITUTION:The long wave earth current being one of the premonitory symptoms of an earthquake is simultaneously observed at least at four points in the earth or the sea bottom. A wave source can calculate a relative error of about 1km from a received/detected signal and can draw the fault chart of a wave source region. The local small destruction of rock occurs on a fault plane becoming a centrum region prior to the generation of an earthquake and a radio wave is generated at this time. Therefore, the centrum region can be foretold from the centrum region. Since the relation between the magnitude of an earthquake, the expanse of the centrum region and the shift of the fault plane as well as the relation between the magnitude of shift and the generation intensity of a long wave are known, the magnitude of the earthquake can be foretold. Since the generation intensity and frequency of a long wave of 3kHz or less and the magnitude of the wave source region become max. immediately before the generation of an earthquake, the timewise change of these values are extrapolated by the continuous tomography of the wave source region and the data when the calculated magnitude of an earthquake (in the case of our country) becomes 7-8.4 is set to a data when an earthquake of magnitude of 7 or more occurs.
