PURPOSE:To provide possibility of mounting large area paddle on a space probe for the space zone having a low solar energy density as located farther than Mars by allowing a folding type solar cell paddle to be spread into a flat plate form by the centripetal acceleration generated with rotation of the spacecraft proper round its own axis. CONSTITUTION:A solar cell paddle 3 of centrifugal spreading type is mounted on a deep space probe as per invention, and a solar cell bracket 8 and outer board 7 at the side of the bus part 2 are accommodated in folded state. First the outer board 7 is spread by the centrifugal force generated by spin 10 of the spacecraft proper, and then the solar cell bracket 8 is pulled out to generate a condition fully spread as shown in the attached illustration. When the spread is completed, the solar cell bracket hinge parts are fixed to one another. A momentum wheel is installed inside of the bus part 2 to make directional control of antenna and solar cell paddle 3.
