Fuel injection installation with distributor injection pump - has injection start adjuster with element adjustable by RPM-dependent control pressure of pressure medium against restoring force with delivery pump running synchronism with injection pump
The pressure from the delivery pump is controlled by a pressure control valve, as the control pressure for the adjusting element. This has a control element acted upon by control pressure, adjustable against a pressure spring which, depending on the difference between the restoring force and the control pressure, frees a determined passage cross section for the pressure medium. An additional auxiliary power operating adjusting unit is provided for the pressure control valve. The auxiliary power operated adjusting unit (24;24a) is designed to be self-locking. The adjusting unit (24;24a) can be designed as a linear stepper motor, with a self-locking spindle. The tension of the pressure spring (18) can be altered by the adjusting unit (20). ADVANTAGE - Known fuel injection system is further improved with regard to its fault-free functioning and in its emergency characteristics.
